    EcoFlow Solar Parallel Connection Cable

The EcoFlow Solar Parallel Cable connects solar panels in parallel to an EcoFlow power station (DELTA/RIVER Series).

In some cases, connecting solar panels in series improves charging rate efficiency. The parallel connection cable is required to connect:

    • 4 solar panels in parallel to recharge DELTA Series.
    • 2 solar panels in parallel to recharge RIVER Series.

Connecting in series vs. in parallel

Regardless of the type of connection (series or parallel, the more power you can generate, the faster your power station will charge. However, there are constraint on the solar voltage input of the solar current input depending on the power station you have.

Connecting solar panels in series increases voltage while current remains the same. Generated power is equal to voltage multiplied by current. It is more suitable the DELTA series power stations because they allow for a wide range of  solar charging voltage and only a fixed maximum current. For example, DELTA PRO requires a solar panel (SP) open-circuit voltage of 11-150V. So it can be connected in series with three 400W SP (single SP open-circuit voltage 48V, three 48V X3 = 144V, not exceeding 150V)

On the contrary, connecting solar panels in parallel increases current but voltage remains unchanged. Generated power is equal to voltage multiplied by current. This type of connection is more suitable for the RIVER series power stations since they have a narrow range of solar charging voltage. For example, RIVER PRO requires a solar panel open circuit voltage ranging 10-25V, beyond 25V the power station will not be charged. Voltage of a single solar panel open circuit has a 21.7V. If you double it, in series, voltage becomes 43.4V and the RIVER PRO will not charge (43.4V > 25V). However, if you use parallel connection, the double SP open circuit will still have a 21.V voltage, allowing the RIVER PRO to be charge. Since you increase the power generated by doubling the number of solar panels, your RIVER PRO will charge faster with 2 panels rather than 1.
